Salt and Pepper Calamari

Steps

  1. Whisk egg and milk together in a bowl.
  2. Mix panko, pepper, and salt in a shallow bowl.
  3. Lightly dust calamari with flour, shaking off any excess in egg mixture then panko mixture to coat.
  4. Transfer to a plate and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a saucepan or deep fryer.
  6. Deep-fry calamari in batches until light golden brown, about 3 minutes.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
